LLafur Day-school 25 March 2017
AMC/WAW was well represented among the delegates at a day-school held by Llafur: Welsh People’s History Society at Glamorgan Archives. The event celebrated ’50 Years of Women’s & Gay Liberation’, marking the 1967 Sexual Offences Act and the start of the Women’s Liberation Movement. Two AMC/WAW members contributed talks: Avril Rolph explained how the experience of researching the WLM of the 1970s in Wales revealed how many women had kept bags full of papers, photos, etc., which provided the inspiration for a women’s archive; Jenny Lynn gave a spirited account of her days as a WLM activist. This is history which touches the lives of over 50% of the population.
