VOTE NOW FOR THE ‘VOICES FROM THE FACTORY FLOOR’ PROJECT IN THE PUBLIC VOTE

Women’s Archive Wales is delighted that its pioneering oral history project ‘Voices from the Factory Floor’ has been shortlisted for the Angel Heritage Awards Wales (Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales). We recorded the memories of 200 women who worked in factories the length and breadth of Wales, but which have since closed. The project has inspired a website www.factorywomensvoices.wales , a book, a musical and a living history television series, but more importantly it has ensured that these women’s experiences will not be forgotten and lost for the future. This is the only project in the competition which tells her-story.  You can vote for your favourite project on the Commission’s website:
