Retired university lecturer and now organiser of Bangor University's School of History Research Seminar Series.
For many years I worked in law but in 1999 decided that I needed a career break and, as an undergraduate, I joined the School of History at Bangor University. In my final year of the history degree Prof.Duncan Tanner offered me the opportunity to study for a Ph.D. with him and I never went back to law. Upon successfully completing my Ph.D.on post-war Labour politics in Swansea I took up a teaching post at the School teaching modern British history. I retired from teaching in the summer of 2016 but continue to organise the School of History's Research seminar programme as I have done for the last three years - as well as continuing my own research into the impact of war on society in 20th century Wales.
