Swansea Women's Centre
Swansea Women's Centre opened in 1979 in Singleton Street, in a building which is now part of the Grand Theatre. It provided a continuing focus for feminist activities in South West Wales in subsequent premises in Alexandra Road, High Street and finally Mansel Street before the building closed in 2016. Until it closed, it provided a regular meeting place for women's organisations, organised social events, and offered training in various areas under the guiding principle of promoting self-help and self-reliance among women.
The collection covers the period 1979-2008, and includes newsletters, minutes, annual reports, correspondence, publicity material and photographs.
