Setting the Record Straight - Safeguarding Female Records and Voices in Welsh Politics 1999-2019
Excellent news for Women's Archive Wales!
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the National Assembly for Wales, WAW has received two substantial grants from the National Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Assembly to organize a project to safeguard the papers and the voices of the women assembly members who served between 1999 and 2019.
And there is much to celebrate since, in 2003, the National Assembly for Wales was the first national legislature to have a gender balance of assembly members, and women have played a crucial role in establishing and running our new democratic institutions in Wales. This exciting and challenging new project will be launched in the Senedd during its twentieth anniversary celebrations at the end of September.
In order to achieve our aims, we wish to appoint four officers, who will work on a freelance basis from September 2019 to March 2021. They will work with volunteers to deliver the project - thus we are calling any member of WAW who can help with this important and interesting project (training will be given). Please contact Catrin Stevens (Project Coordinator) as soon as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01792 893410 / 07453 458208.
Please see job advert below. We would be grateful if you could help publicize them. Many thanks.
